In 1998, the IRC began an initiative to decorate one of the Innis Residence common rooms with a mural designed and painted by residents. This mural was completed in the spring of 2000, and the room subsequently became known as the Fishbowl. 

In 2021, inspired by this mural and its history, the IRC began an initiative to decorate the building's stairwells with new murals that both reflect and add to Innis's unique culture.

After three years, the Mural Project was finally completed, and after another year, with guidance from the community, the decision was made to bring the project back again!
